Is the free tier really free forever?+

Yes. The free tier is rate-limited (100 MB max video size, 24-hour retention) but has no time limit. We don't plan to take it away.

When will Pro launch?+

When enough people are on the waitlist that it makes sense to build billing. Join the waitlist to bump up the timeline and lock in early pricing.

What's included in Pro?+

Higher size limits (~ 5 GB), priority queue, longer retention, dedicated rate-limit pool, SLA, and email support. Final feature list firms up before launch.

Can I self-host instead?+

Absolutely. The MCP binary and the upload server are both open source. Self-hosting is free forever, no licensing — fork it, ship it, modify it.

Do you have an enterprise tier?+

Not formally yet. If you need something specific (private deployment, BYO Whisper model, custom SLA), email api@subtitlesking.com and we'll figure something out.

How are MCP and API usage counted?+

By video processed, not by API call. A single uploaded video that you check status on 50 times still counts as one video.

What payment methods will Pro accept?+

Stripe — credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Billing is monthly with a generous trial.
